Chiyome is a Persona in Persona 5: The Phantom X. It is the initial Persona of Riko Tanemura.

Origin

According to a document used by the folklorist and historian Tarō Nakayama for his 1930 book History of Japanese Shrine Maidens, Chiyo-nyōbō was a 16th-century Japanese noblewoman and shrine maiden who was appointed head shrine maiden in the provinces of Shinano and Kai in 1569 by Takeda Shingen. The authenticity of the source document used by Nakayama is disputed.

In his 1971 book Inquires on Japanese History, the fiction author and self-proclaimed historian Shisei Inagaki claimed that she was a kunoichi (female ninja), giving her the full name Mochizuki Chiyome (also pronounced Mochizuki Chiyojo). Expanding upon Nakayama's description, he said that Chiyome trained wandering shrine maidens in Netsumura as a kunoichi to gather information for the Takeda clan. There is no historical evidence to support Inagaki's claims.
