Deck Thoth

The Apostle is an Arcana in Persona 5 Strikers. It shares the number V5 with the Hierophant Arcana.[a]

Profile

The Japanese name, Shinkan (meaning a priest, especially Shinto) is an alternative Japanese name for the Hierophant (usually referred to in Japanese as 教皇, "the Pope") used especially in relation to Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot deck. Because the Thoth deck, which was originally created in English, already uses the name Hierophant, a different name was needed to distinguish the Arcana in English, hence "Apostle".

Game Appearances

Persona 5 Strikers

Similar to the Hope Arcana, which also debuts in Persona 5 Strikers, the Apostle Arcana is only used to represent a new character, and label the Arcana of their Persona (in this case, Zenkichi Hasegawa and Valjean). It does not have a card graphic due to the lack of a Confidant/Social Link system, and there are no Personas with the Arcana obtainable by the protagonist. Though, the Apostle is also mentioned by name by Lavenza, who informs the protagonist that Zenkichi bears the Arcana.
