Poison is a recurring Status Ailment in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Poison typically inflicts a small-to-moderate amount of damage per turn to those inflicted. In some games, it may also persist after battle, dealing damage every few steps the protagonist takes in the overworld or in a dungeon.

Persona 4

  In Persona 4, a target inflicted with Poison loses HP every time they act, and both their physical and magical damage is halved.

In Golden, a target inflicted with Poison loses HP every time they act, and only their physical damage is halved.

In both games, the effect lasts until it is removed or until after battle.
