Profile

Madam is the administrator of the Valhalla district of Tokyo Millennium. She lives in a mansion and has a butler named Alfred, being the wealthiest of those who reside in the district. It is implied that she took over administrating the district from an unnamed man, who could have either been a close familial member, mentor, or a possible husband.

Madam is seen holding a pipe in one hand and wears an extravagant purple dress with chains. She also has short blonde hair and wears purple lipstick.

Game Appearances

Shin Megami Tensei II

Madam appears in her mansion in Valhlla through a screen, having invited the most recent champion Hawk to meet with her. She describes how people come to Valhalla to partake in any amount of earthly desires they can, making the district prosper in peace, then explains how the Center controls every district and how she intends to keep Valhalla just the way it is. She then brings up an issue with a former worker of hers named Hanada who ran away and is trying to open a portal to the Makai, then asking Hawk to apprehend him and bring him back to her. She then brings her pet Cerberus out to briefly assist Hawk in his search and sends him off.

When Hawk returns, Madam is a bit disappointed he was not able to bring Hanada back alive but says what's done is done and then tells him that someone is there to meet him. Once Hawk's identity as Aleph is revealed, Madam is a bit surprised but tells him to go along to the Center where he belongs.

Visionaries

Madam is featured in three Visionary cutscenes in the Game Boy Advance and iOS versions of the game.

In "Ruby Earrings", Madam is convinced by Alfred to go speak to the Center about making Valhalla more prosperous. She admits that ever since "he" had died, she has been losing the will to live, but concedes to Alfred's point that she is the most qualified to protect Valhalla. She says that as the unnamed man had such high hopes for Valhalla, and they cannot lose it, and then wonders about the cause of his mysterious death before dismissing her thoughts and leaving to go negotiate with the Center.

He wonders if he'll ever be able to tell Hiroko the truth someday, but tells himself that he won't as long as he lives.

-In "Cracked Flask", Mekata discusses the need for a fifth body for the project with the [[Center Bishop|Bishop]]. Though Mekata warns him that the chances the fifth body survives accelerated growth is less than 100%, the Bishop dismisses his concerns and tells him that the body should be able to survive it no matter how fast they set it's growth rate. Mekata tries to convince him that more time is needed to ensure the body doesn't fail, but the Bishop responds by saying that if it does fail, they will simply move on to another body for the experiment. The Bishop justifies his attitude by saying that it is the body's duty to undergo the experiment, and even if they could not withstand the acceleration, their soul will surely be saved by God, and that as a scientist, Mekata has no need to be worrying about what happens to its soul. Mekata reluctantly concedes to his orders.

Mekata says he must continue working, however, disappointing Hiroko and making her ask him when he will come to see her, with him hesitantly telling her he might be able to see her the next week. She sadly asks him to promise her that he will really see her then, to which he does, and then hangs up the call, leaving Mekata to contemplate if he is a failure of a father.

He mentions that he is the body born from the body of his daughter and the core of the Messiah Project, as he is meant to be the faithful Messiah of the Center, though he laughs to himself at the irony of it all, as he secretly erased any sense of loyalty to the Center in him. As he is now unbound to the Center, Mekata wonders what will become of him in the future, as it is now his choice whether he aligns with the Center not, before he concludes that no one can know.
