Poison is a recurring status Ailment in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Profile
Poison typically inflicts a small-to-moderate amount of damage per turn to those inflicted. In some games, it may also persist after battle, dealing damage every few steps the player takes in the overworld or in a dungeon.

Persona 4
