Namco Limited was a company known for developing and publishing video games, most famously developing and releasing the game Pac-Man in 1980. With regard to the Megami Tensei franchise, Namco was the publisher of Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei and Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei II, which it did under the subsidiary Namcot.
History
Namco was founded in 1955 by Masaya Nakamura under the name Nakamura Seisakusho, and it began developing games under the name Namco in 1977. It was acquired by the toy company Bandai Co., Ltd. on September 29, 2005, and the two companies merged to form Namco Bandai Holdings (now known as Bandai Namco Holdings).
