Devil Summoner is a series in the Megami Tensei franchise. Its first game, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner released for the Sega Saturn in 1995, was initially a spin-off in the Shin Megami Tensei series. The game subsequently expanded into a series of its own with several self-contained titles and media.

Soul Hackers
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers is the second entry in the Devil Summoner series, originally released for the Sega Saturn in 1997. While the game did not initially spawn a sub-series, it was overtime followed by a two novel adaptations and mobile games based on this particular entry. Soul Hackers was established as a proper sub-series with the release of Soul Hackers 2 in 2022, 25 years after the original game's release, which the game's developers intended to be part of a new series.[1]
