Mementos is a randomly generated dungeon in the Metaverse, more akin to Tartarus and the TV World from Persona 3 and Persona 4, respectively. The dungeon is split into 8 areas (9 in Royal) with each becoming accessible after the current Palace is cleared and the change of heart is triggered. Each area has a set amount of floors with enemies and loot, each with a randomly generated layout which changes when you exit and reenter the floor. There are 2 train platforms on each floor, one leading up and one leading down to access other floors. There are Safe Areas where the player can save their game, fast travel, heal, or consult their team. These are located on specific floors. At the end of each area is a platform which contains a Mementos Target from the Phan-Site. After the enemy is cleared, the player is able to fast travel (albeit cannot save) to other parts of the dungeon or proceed to the next area if the calendar requirement is met.

Paths of Mementos
The names of the paths of Mementos are based on a specific interpretation of the Qliphoth (as referenced by the Qliphoth World), the opposite of the Sefirot or "Tree of Life" in Kabbalah. This version of the Qliphoth was originally created by William G. Gray in his book The Tree of Evil, where he used certain antonyms of each sefirah (in English only). Gray's Tree of Evil became the popular version in Japan, and at some point was translated into Hebrew, resulting in the corrupted transliterations later used by the English localization of Persona 5. The Japanese version instead calls them the "x-deprived path", where x is seemingly an antonym of Gray's qliphah to be "stolen"; however, these are not necessarily the corresponding sefirot. The paths occur in reverse order and two of the qliphoth are not used; additionally, the Path of Da'at instead refers to the unity of all ten sefirot.
