Origin

Verchiel is one of the Twelve Angels of the Zodiac, a concept attributed to 16th century German scholar and occultist Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa. An angel of the Virtue order, he represents the Leo zodiac and the month of July, and corresponds to praestigiatores (illusionists) in the hierarchy of the damned and demons.
