An eel-god in Polenisian[sic] legend.
He had a lover named Hina, but she eventually grew tired of him and left in search for a new lover, finding the hero Maui.
Tuna attacked Maui, but was torn to pieces. His head was buried and the first coconut tree sprouted from it.

ポリネシア諸島の伝説に登場し、人間の少女を誘惑して恋人としたと言われるウナギの姿をした怪物。恋人となった少女の名は「ヒナ」と言う。トゥナに飽きて他の男性を求め始めたヒナは英雄マウイと恋に落ちる。それを知ったトゥナは、波を自在に操

り二人に襲いかかるが、逆にマウイに体をバラバラに切り裂かれて殺された。その後、トゥナの死体の内、頭部だけが埋葬され、そこから最初のココヤシの木が生まれたのだと言う。
