[[Ren Amamiya|Joker]] – This game’s hero, and the player’s avatar. A second-year high school student. After getting involved in the Psychotic Breakdown incidents, he awakened his Persona. He is the leader of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, a group that aims to make rotten adults repent and reform. His codename is “Joker.” His Persona is [[Arsene]].
[[Morgana]] – A mysterious, talking, cat-like being that our heroes met in another world. After being saved by Joker, he tags along with the group. He knows a lot about this world, and so he acts as a guide, as well a mascot. His codename is “Mona.” His Persona is [[Zorro]].
[[Erina]] (Elle in Japan) – A girl who saves Joker and the Phantom Thieves when they wandered into the world. She isn’t the best at thinking of details, and tends to act without putting much thought into things. But it is through this ability to act, and her cheerful and spirited personality that she was able to garner the trust of others, making her the leader of the “revolution.” In order to accomplish this revolution, she tries to strike a deal with the Phantom Thieves to help her. But what will happen?
[[Ryuji Sakamoto]] - A boy who became a notorious troublemaker after physical education teachers purposely failed him. He awakened his Persona when he wandered into the strange realm with the main character. He became friends with the main character, who sympathized with him through his own similar circumstances, and together they founded the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, fighting against adults with desires. He’s quick to put up his fists, but is also filled with compassion. When he sees a friend in need or someone who is oppressed, he and his sense of justice and bravery is willing to stand up to any opponent. His Persona is [[Captain Kid]].
[[Ann Takamaki]] - An outstandingly good-looking girl who is a quarter American. In the past, those very looks had isolated her, and she made many sacrifices to protect her only friend who
understood her. However, when she started to hang out with the main character, she decided to take revenge against evil adults. She becomes a member of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts after she awakened her Persona. Her kindness does not allow her to ignore a weak person, and her strong will fears no evil. She lived overseas before, so she can speak English well. However, she is in a race to the bottom with Ryuji regarding her grades for all other subjects. Her Persona is [[Carmen]].
[[Toshiro Kasukabe]] - A young member of the Diet rumored to be the next Prime Minister. He was imprisoned after wandering into the alternate realm. The Phantom Thieves freed him, and so now he joins the group and works with them. He is very logic his thinking, and very resourceful. He can look at a situation from a higher perspective, and commander type of person. Despite this, he is deathly afraid of fighting and getting hurt, and so he is always looking for the safest route.
[[Yusuke Kitagawa]] - A second-year art student from Kosei High School, well known for his artwork. Although his trusted mentor used to take advantage of those skills, once Yusuke met the Phantom Thieves, he finds the strength to stand up to his mentor. In the process he awakens to his Persona and joins the Phantom Thieves. Although his good looks often draw the attention of others, because of his artistic inclinations, his behavior is eccentric enough to be off-putting to some people. His Persona is [[Goemon]].
[[Makoto Niijima]] - A third-year student and the class president of Shujin Academy. Influenced by her strict sister, she always felt she had to be a responsible student. She used to be a floormat to the staff at her school, but after breaking out of her shell, she awakens her Persona and joins the Phantom Thieves. She assumes the role of the reliable, older sister in the group, and is a physical brawler who uses her fists to fight in battle, which can make her scary sometimes. Her Persona is [[Johanna]].
[[Futaba Sakura]] - A genius hacker who, at one point, grabbed the attention of the world. She initially lived a life of recluse, as adults around her made her believe she caused her own mother’s death. Although she initially struggled with social interactions and talking to people face-to-face, by regaining her true memories, she awakens her Persona. In the Phantom Thieves, she provides a navigator role, supporting her teammates from the sidelines. Her Persona is [[Necronomicon]].
[[Haru Okumura]] - The daughter of the CEO of Okumura Foods, a large fast-food chain. At one point, she was forced into an arranged marriage agreement from her father, and she wasn’t free to live as she chose. After awakening to her Persona, she finds the courage to stand up to her father. In the process, she loses him, but continues the fight after overcoming her grief. Although she is gentle and well-mannered, she’s can also be a bit scary at times. Her Persona is [[Milady]].
[[Lavenza]] - A resident of the Velvet Room in the form of a young girl. She possesses the role of assisting and watching over the protagonist. She is polite, a hard worker, and sometimes eccentric. In the story of Persona 5 Tactica, she wears a blacksmith outfit and is in charge of [[Fusion|Persona fusion]] in the smithy-esque [[Velvet Room]].
