Skoll is a Demon in the Devil Children series.
Profile
Origin
Skoll, also known as Sköll,[a] is in Norse mythology a Jötunn in wolf shape that chases after the sun. He is mentioned in one stanza of the Grímnismál section of the Poetic Edda, along with Hati. In Snorri Sturluson's commentary in the Gylfaginning he draws a connection to Völuspá stanza 40, claiming Skoll and Hati are two of the wolves birthed or raised by the old woman in the iron forest and making Skoll the one that will destroy or eat the sun.[b] This is however in contrast with stanzas 46-47 of the Vafþrúðnismál, where it is said that Fenrir is the one that will swallow the sun.[1]
Design
Skoll appears as a bipedal wolf with orange fur, a purple mane, and red eyes. The torso, muzzle, and paws are a lighter color than the rest of the fur.

Notes
- ↑ Skoll or Skǫll, depending on source.
- ↑ The words used in the stanza, fœðir at, could mean either "to give birth" or "to foster", making Skoll and Hati's direct relation vague.
