Nomenclature
The Scorpion is most likely named after the Škorpion vz. 61, a Czechoslovak machine gun developed by Miroslav Rybář from 1959 to 1961 and manufactured by Česká zbrojovka from 1963 to 1979. The manual of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner calls it a Czechoslovak gun.
