Saladin is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Origin
Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub,[a] better known in the west as Saladin, was a Kurdish warrior who was born in Tikrit (now part of Iraq) in AD 1138 or 1139 (AH 532). In 1169 (564), after the death of his uncle Shirkuh, Saladin was appointed vizier to the Isma'ili Shi'ite Fatimid Caliphate in Egypt.
In 1171 (567), he would wrest control of Egypt from the Fatimid caliph al-Adil and realign himself towards the Sunni Abbasid Caliphate in Baghdad. In 1174 (569), he declared himself Sultan and took control of Damascus after the death of the Zengid ruler Nur ad-Din. He would conquer the rest of Syria from the Zengids in 1175 (570) in the Battle of the Horns of Hama.
Saladin is most well known for his jihād against the crusaders' Kingdom of Jerusalem in 1187 (583), in which his army successfully captured Jerusalem in the Battle of Hattin. Despite him being their enemy, western sources praised him for his bravery and honor.
The Ayyubid dynasty continued to rule Egypt until 1250 (648), when the Mamluks (slave-soldiers) took power. The Ayyubids still ruled in Syria until it was conquered by the Mongols in 1260 (658). However, the Ayyubids would be governors of the Mamluks in Hama until 1341 or 1342 (742), and a minor Ayyubid emirate existed in Hasankeyf until the early 16th century AD (10th century AH).
