The Neo-Messians are a group in Shin Megami Tensei: Nine. They are a radical splinter sect of the Messian Church, and they are the creators of the AI program Maria,[1] who is the eponymous "Neo-Messiah".
Profile
In the year 1990, a group of Messians began to study machine management. In 1998, the Neo-Messians, having splintered off from the Messian Church by this point, completed a prototype of Maria. After the Great Cataclysm of 199X, survivors of the Neo-Messians would continue research on Maria in 2005. In 2017, the Neo-Messians created the Central Bureau of Administrative Services (C.B.A.S.), which governed the underground city of survivors that they were located in. The Messiah Program would be installed into Maria in the year 2019, when Maria reached her "perfect form". In 2022, the Idea Space would be handed to the C.B.A.S., and Maria would be connected to the Idea Space's servers.[2]
