After gaining access to Okina via his scooter, the protagonist can start going to Cafe Chagall. Inside, Mumon serves the protagonist a cup of coffee, talking about how he holds himself to higher standards even though Chagall is a chain. He begins musing about his family, and his clumsy older brother who took over the family business and became a Buddhist monk. He encourages the protagonist to drink his coffee, but warns him not to underestimate it. When the protagonist wakes up at night time after passing out due to how strong the coffee is, Mumon comments about the flavor being too mature for him.

Rise takes the Investigation Team visit Chagall after they see a movie together in Okina. Similar to the game, Mumon warns them all about his coffee being strong.

- Mumon is possibly related to Muhen (manager of Jazz Jin in Persona 5 Royal) and Mutatsu (Persona 3 Tower Social Link): Mumon mentions that he has a brother who became a monk to take over the family business,[1] Muhen mentions he could have been a monk since his family house is a temple but his brothers didn't want to inherit it,[2] and Mutatsu mentions in his Social Link that before becoming a monk, he was a salaryman whose wife and son left him four years ago[3] before he swallowed his pride and inherited his family's temple thinking it wouldn't be much work.[4]
