Moai is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Carved between 1250 and 1500 AD by the Polynesian Rapa Nui people, the Moai statues of Easter Island were once full-bodied figures, but many were gradually buried up to their necks over time. They are believed to represent ancestral spirits or powerful chiefs, watching over the living from their places on stone platforms called ahu, and act as conduits of divine mana power. How the Moai statues were transported from quarries to their ahu platforms is still widely debated, with theories ranging from rolling them on logs, to "walking" them upright with ropes.

Design

Moai is a floating stone head with a large nose, firm gaze, and a brown beanie hat.
