Met by Moonlight: Luminous Island is an expansion for Persona 5: The Phantom X. It is the first chapter in the Met by Moonlight collaboration with Persona 3 Reload.

Tartarus

As part of the event, the new game mode Tartarus was released. Tartarus can be unlocked by progressing through the Adventure: Luminous Island portion of the event.
Recollections Under Moonlight
In Recollections Under Moonlight, Wonder and his party must defeat a Barbaric Beast Wheel in a boss fight. There are 30 difficulty levels, referred to as Distortion Levels. At Distortion Level 1, Barbaric Beast Wheel will be at level 26 and gain 2 levels each Distortion Level, up to level 84 at Distortion Level 30. Additionally, certain Distortion Levels apply special conditions to the battle. Upon clearing each Distortion Level, that level (and any levels below it) are unlocked in Stamina Mode, in which Wonder can challenge that stage for 60 stamina to earn Wonder EXP, Wheel of Time: New Moon, and Konpaku Gems. In Stamina Mode, the party receives a buff that makes clearing that stage much easier.

| 15 | When Barbaric Beast Wheel gains Irreversible or Maximum Output, its final damage dealt is doubled. |
| 20 | Damage from Rolling Pursuit is increased by 20%, and Wild Assault deals guaranteed criticals. |
| 26 | When Wheel's Afterimage is present, Barbaric Beast Wheel's affinities are changed. |
| 28 | All foes' Defense is increased by 20%. |
| 29 | All foes' max HP is increased by 20%. |
| 30 | All foes' Attack is increased by 20%. |
| Stamina Mode | Party's final damage is greatly increased, and their damage taken is greatly decreased. Before allies' actions, all foes' affinities change to Weak. |
Boss
- The following stats are based on Distortion Level 25.
Barbaric Beast Wheel is immune to Insta-kill effects, spiritual/Control ailments, and being downed. Each turn, Barbaric Beast Wheel will gain Power, increasing its Attack and Defense; when damage is dealt to it, it will lose Power for each hit. After its HP is depleted for the first time, it will enter the second phase, doubling its rate of gaining Power via the Shifting Gears status. After this point, at 80 Power it will increase its final damage dealt and gain Irreversible, preventing Power from being reduced below 80 points. While in Irreversible, it will use Rolling Pursuit as an extra action.
After depleting its HP another time, Barbaric Beast Wheel will enter the third phase and gain Maximum Output while summoning two Wheel's Afterimages. When a Wheel's Afterimage is defeated, Barbaric Beast Wheel will be weakened and unable to act for one turn. With Maximum Output, Barbaric Beast Wheel will have 100 Power at all times and increase its final damage further. Additionally, it will spend Power to use skills; when doing so, it will gain Overload for 2 turns and increase its final damage taken. Finally, it will gain Omen of Assault, forewarning that it will use Wild Assault after a specified number of turns.
