Konnou runs the shop Konnou-Ya, an antique store which has existed in Yarai-Ginza since the Taisho period. Konnou enjoys drinking, talking (having once told his life story for eight hours), smoking from a pipe, and playing gateball, and his greatest issue is people writing on his store sign as a prank.[3]

Nomenclature
According to Kazuma Kaneko Works V, Konnou (金王) is short for 金剛夜叉明王 Kongōyasha Myōō, one of the Wisdom Kings in Buddhism.[3]
