Katsuya Suou is a minor character in Persona 2: Innocent Sin and a playable character in Persona 2: Eternal Punishment.
Profile
Katsuya is a 25 year old detective at the Kounan Police Department in Sumaru City. He has brown hair and bangs that frame his face, which are often mistaken for sideburns by characters like Ulala Serizawa. He wears a grey suit with a red dress shirt underneath, accompanied by a black tie and red tinted sunglasses, while keeping his regulation gun on his holster, attached to his belt. He has a strong sense of justice, and is often quick to remind those around him of their legal responsibilities, although he can falter when what is right clashes with what is legal. As well as this, he is quite protective, with much of his behavior stemming from his anxieties around his younger brother Tatsuya. His relationship with Tatsuya is strained, but he takes it upon himself to act as a parental figure due to the failures of his father, and the close relationship he shared with Tatsuya in childhood. As such, he holds himself to a high standard of propriety, although Tatsuya finds his overbearing nature to be stifling. Part of his high standards involve not letting down his guard, and the police at the Kounan Police Department mention how he has an iron mask,[2] hiding his weaknesses, such as an allergy to cats.[3] The exceptions are for what he loves, like his family and sense of justice, which manifest in his anger and passion. He occasionally comes into conflict with those who he perceives to be slighting what is right, or hurting those he loves, but it is usually done to encourage them to act justly. He is motivated by learning more about the world, as a book-smart policeman, but also about surpassing his father in every way he can.[4] Despite his stern demeanor, he has a soft side; baking sweets[5] and keeping up with fashion trends for leisure.[6]
