Headless Rider is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Origin
Headless Rider is based on a Japanese urban legend about a motorcyclist who was decapitated by piano wire but continued to ride even after being beheaded. The legend is believed to have gained popularity following the release of the 1975 episode “Chopper” of the American television series Kolchak: The Night Stalker, which aired in Japan in 1976[1] under the title Crime Reporter Kolchak.[a] The episode depicted a headless, sword-wielding motorcyclist who returns from the grave to behead the rival gang members who killed him and is thought to have contributed to the spread of the legend. Reports and rumors of “headless riders” subsequently circulated in Japan, often linked to motorcycle accidents. The 1974 Australian film Stone (released in Japan in 1981), which features a scene in which a rider is decapitated by a wire stretched across a road, is also believed to have popularized the legend.
The urban legend itself is said to have originated from an actual accident in which someone stretched a rope across a road to stop a group of bikers, causing a crash. Other explanations suggest that sightings may have been misidentifications of riders wearing dark, full-face helmets at night or of motorcyclists leaning forward on sport bikes, making them appear headless.
