Asmodel is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Asmodel is one of the Twelve Angels of the Zodiac, a concept attributed to 16th century German scholar and occultist Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa. He is an angel of the Cherubim order who presided over the Taurus zodiac and the month of April. He corresponds to spiritus mendacii (spirits of deceit) in the hierarchy of the damned and demons.[1]

Asmodel joined Lucifer in his rebellion against God, which culminated in the War in Heaven, but was cast down to Hell by Raphael alongside the other rebel angels. Within the second sphere of Hell, Asmodel was renamed Asmodeus, the embodiment of the sin of lust, and became its Seventh King.[citation needed]
