Origin

Mezuki (馬頭鬼, lit. "horse-headed ogre") is a Japanese name of the creature Horse-Face, one of the guardians of the underworld in East Asian Buddhism along with Ox-Head.

Design

Mezuki's artwork for Shin Megami Tensei features the character 鬼 on his clothing, which is one of the characters in his name.
