Ryuji Sakamoto is a character in Persona 5. He is a student at Shujin Academy and a member of the Phantom Thieves.
Profile
When Ryuji was young his father left, leaving his mother to look after him. During Middle school Ryuji met with Ann Takamaki and the two became friends. At someone point Ryuji needed to borrow money from Ann so he could buy a dolphin plushie for his mother as a souvenir on a school field trip. He enrolled into Shujin academy to get a track scholarship to help his mother. Things were going well until Kamoshida arrived. Kamoshida was a ruthless PE teacher and abused the Track team including firing the old coach. Kamoshida went as far as to make fun of Ryuji's mother, this enraged Ryuji and gave Kamoshida an excuse to break his knee for "self defence". Ryuji dyed his hair blond and became a notorious trouble maker as noted by his teachers.
