Black Knight is a Demon from Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei.
Origin
The Black Knight is a literary stock character who masks his identity and that of his liege by not displaying heraldry. Often portrayed as antagonistic figures who commit misdeeds. The character was often associated with darkness or death.
Despite this, the official entry for Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei states that the grudge of the Black Knight is in a suit of armor that was being revived by a spiteful spirit only to fight amongst the living.[1]
Design
In both the official artwork and the in-game sprite from Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei, it ironically has Green armor, with one of the artworks having a much brighter tone. The demon shares the same sprite as Cu Chulainn. In Kyūyaku Megami Tensei, the suit is a darker purple, fitting the "Black Knight" title. The sprite was also a recolor of Cu Chulainn.
