The gameplay of ''Persona 3 Reload'' is similar to that of the original {{Gamelink|P3}}, though with changes and additions introduced in later titles of the {{Serieslink|P}}.  

The game features new character portraits and a redesigned UI. In battle, the player's actions are now mapped to individual buttons rather than being in a rotating menu, matching {{Gamelink|P5}}.
