Trivia
- Writer Aya Nishitani was asked to give the teacher a first name during the production of the OVA, and the name he chose was Reiko.
- The name Nishitani submitted was originally spelled as 礼子, but when recorded in production documents it was written as 冷子; Nishitani did not feel the need to protest and allowed the change.[1]
- This name was used in early planning materials for the OVA as well as in some advertisements around the time of its release, including the April 1987 issue of Anime V and the 1987.6-1988.7 issue of The Encyclopedia OAV, which was a supplemental magazine provided with the August 1988 issue of Animedia.[2][3]
- The name utimately went unused since publishers at the time were strict about adaptations adhering to their original source material; since Obara's first name wasn't mentioned in the novel, the name couldn't be added to the animation.[4]
Nomenclature
Her name literally means "small field".

Published by DDS Library.
