Nomenclature
具足 gusoku is a Japanese word of Chinese origin, which is used in Japanese to refer to an entire suit of armor. The Megami Tensei franchise uses it to refer to foot armor in specific, probably due to the kanji 足 also meaning "foot" (though in the Sino-Japanese compound word gusoku, it carries the meaning of "sufficient").
