Ksitigarbha resides in the shrine in the center of stage 51's map, the Desert of Death, otherwise known as the Demon's graveyard. Ksitigarbha's demeanor towards the Protagonist and the Heroine will drastically change depending on their actions made before clearing the stage.

If they chose not to kill any of the demons on the map, he will be pleased with them and talk about the existence of demonkind. Though they are cursed by humanity and the gods, and perhaps are born only to suffer, he believes that they can be saved. He will then send the heroes on their way. If they chose to kill any of the demons before clearing the stage however, he will criticize them for their mindlessly violent nature and demand they leave his sanctuary.
