Annaberg is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

In his 1549 book De animantibus subterraneis liber, Saxon mineralogist Georgius Agricola wrote of a demon Annebergius who allegedly killed twelve miners with his breath at the corona rosacea cave, taking the form of a horse with a long neck and fierce eyes.[1] Olaus Magnus, writing a few years later, interpreted Annæbergius as referring to the location of the mine,[2] which would probably be the mining town of Annaberg in Saxony (which is now part of the city of Annaberg-Buchholz).
