Profile
Origin
The aḫḫāzu (anglicized as akhkhazu) is an entity in Akkadian and Babylonian folklore[1] which was believed to cause jaundice.[2]
The official profile of Akhkharu from Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei: Hisshō Kōryaku-hō Kanpeki-ban calls it a vampire.[3] This, along with the spelling of this demon's name, is likely influenced by the book Simon Necronomicon written by Peter Levenda and published in 1977, which claims that "Akhkharu" is a Sumerian word for "vampire" and that it desires the blood of Kingu.
