The Tartarus Theater is a series of 4-koma strips based on the Persona series drawn by Ryo Yasohachi. They are notable for their art style which never depicts the Persona characters with faces. Yasohachi attributes this to Persona's character design: Each character is so distinct and easy to tell apart that there is no need to draw their faces.[1] The strips were originally posted on Yasohachi's webpage before his debut as a professional manga artist and author. They gained popularity and were eventually featured in Dengeki Magazine and Persona Magazine. Over the years, Tartarus Theater has been collected into anthologies which were published by Dengeki Comics and Atlus.

Trivia
- The characters with their arms up on the cover of volume 2 is a reference to a scene in Persona 3 where Junpei Iori throws up his hands in defeat and calls himself the "'I Give Up' Samurai" then Yukari Takeba asks him, "Are you stupid? No seriously, are you stupid?!" in response. In the English version, these lines were translated as Junpei calling himself the "Ace Detective" while Yukari retorts that he's "More like Stupei, Ace Defective".
