Yomotsu Hirasaka is a recurring location in the Megami Tensei franchise. In Japanese sacred tradition, it is the underworld where the spirits of the dead go.

Nomenclature

The kanji for Yomi is borrowed from Chinese and literally means "yellow spring" and originally referred to underground springs, later applied to the underworld. The spoken word Yomi is unrelated to its written kanji.
