Guan Yu, also known as Kanseiteikun, is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Guan Yu (關羽) was a Chinese general serving under the warlord Liu Bei in the 3rd century AD. He features as a major character in the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. He has since been deified under the names Guāndì (關帝), Guān Gōng (關公), and Guānshèng Dìjūn (關聖帝君); the latter name is the name used in the Japanese versions of installments in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Nomenclature

According to Kazuma Kaneko Works IV, Guan Yu is known as Kantei Seikun in Devil Summoner rather than Kansei Teikun due to confusion with demons such as Hokuto Seikun.[1]
