Nanashi is a Hunter in training based in Kinshicho, alongside his adoptive sister Asahi. He is not one for words most of the time, but when he does speak, his responses can range from understanding and sympathetic to cheeky and blunt. He demonstrates the ability to take the lead in situations, such as making plans on the spot. He also happens to be a deep sleeper and rousing him awake becomes an arduous effort.

He wears a forest green jumpsuit decorated with patches of varying designs and typography, such as the phrase "NO WAR" and the opening verse to John Lennon's "Imagine". He also sports a singular glove on his right hand, a pair of knee pads, a utility belt with two slim pouches, a smartphone holder on his left wrist, and a strap around his torso to hold his all-black ninjatō [a] when he's not wielding it. He has half-shaved hair, with its longer ends parted to the right, alongside brown eyes. After meeting Dagda and agreeing to his terms, Nanashi's eyes turn green and he gains green markings on his right cheek and his left hand.
