Asahi is Nanashi's adoptive sister and childhood friend who resolutely remains at this side, even if she needs to drag him around to do things. Despite displaying an upbeat and peppy demeanor, she harbors insecurities regarding her worth and skill as an up-and-coming Hunter. Because of this, she possesses a drive to prove herself as competent, especially to her father, which leads her to jumping into situations head first and bringing Nanashi along with her. She also develops a great admiration towards Isabeau, seeing her as a role model to emulate.
Appearance-wise, she has flowy black hair and gray eyes. Her outfit consists of a zip-up dress colored two shades of blue, matching heeled boots, a white aviator cap, and pilot goggles, which are meant to evoke imagery of the sky[1]. In addition, she also sports a white utility belt containing two pouches, one holding two grenade canisters, alongside a pair of white gloves and black elbow guards. She uses a smartphone with a pink case to summon demons for help.
Gameplay
Being the first partner character available for use, Asahi's skill set mainly focuses on healing spells, which increase in effectiveness as she levels up. However, this comes with some drawbacks: having the lowest HP bar of all usable partners, making her more likely to be downed if attacked or using her turn to heal herself, and a chance for her demons to ignore her commands, thus wasting her turn.

Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse Prequel: Asahi Side
- This section contains spoilers. (Skip Section)
This short story[2] details the encounter with Dantalion featured in the Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse Prequel: Nikkari Side short story, where it is framed as a flashback from Asahi's perspective. In the flashback, her nerves and fears are shown to get the best of her, causing her to break down and doubt the group's chance of surviving the encounter. But Nanashi had hatched a plan to kill the demon and silently reassured her that they would succeed, to which they managed to execute the plan without issue.
Back in the present, after Adramalech has killed Nikkari and Manabu, Asahi watches in disbelief as Nanashi is severely injured and finds herself falling back into feeling helplessness. She tries to summon a demon to protect herself, using Nikkari's abandoned phone, but is unable to access the Demon Summoning Program. Without any options left, she cries out for Nanashi, only to be met with his return.
