Nomenclature

Bizen was an old province of Japan which was famous for its production of swords. It is equivalent to the southern half of the modern Okayama Prefecture. Osafune was a school of swordsmithing, and was a former town in Bizen province which is now part of the city of Setouchi, Okayama Prefecture.
