Issitoq is a recurring character first introduced in Episode 5.
After a squadron of Balors from the Imperial Army seize control of a port town, Zabel is unable to cross the sea to a hospital on a neighboring continent, resulting in the death of his sickly daughter. Zabel is then met by Issitoq, who joins him in drilling an undersea tunnel without the Balors' knowledge. Being under volcanic terrain, Issitoq helps by freezing magma with ice magic. When Jin, Akira, and the team meet Zabel and Issitoq, Jin gives Zabel the confidence he needs to finish the tunnel. They successfully emerge on the other continent and take down the Balors, after which Issitoq leaves Zabel. Although saddened by Issitoq's departure, Zabel believes he can finally let go of the grief that came with his daughter's passing.
