Step-up Summon

Step-up Summon Banners are a gacha mechanic in Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2.

Overview

Step-Up Summons are a type of Time Limited Banner where the player purchases Demon Summons in exchange for Gems. Step-up Summons are similar to standard Gem Summons, but have three key differences: Step-up Summons have limited uses referred to as "cycles", Step-Up Summons are exclusive to the Time Limited Banner category, and Steps are only sold in increments of 10 Summons. To compensate for their higher barrier of entry, Step-up Summons offer a slight price discount when compared to Gem Summons and feature multiple guaranteed chances to obtain Rarity 4★ or 5★ demons. Because Step-up Summons are Time Limited, specific Banners will only be available for around 2 weeks at a time and new Banners are regularly rotated in and out of availability. Step-up Summon Banners are often themed around concurrent Events and feature higher rates for specific related unit(s).

The demons available within the Step-up Summons are between Rarity 3★ and 5★ and can be any Archetype besides Common. After summoning, the player will receive a corresponding number of Transcend Motes based on the amount of demons summoned and their Rarities: 3★ = 1 Mote, 4★ = 5 Motes, and 5★ = 35 Motes. Alongside Motes, Step-up Summons also gift the player either 1 Parchment or 1 Tome per Summon. If the player receives a Tome, it will correlate to the Banner it was obtained from.
