To use this page type's boilerplate, select "Quest" under "Content". This page type extends to both main and side quests that are named, such as in a game's quest log. When referring to the quest by name in writing, surround the quest's name in quotation marks.

Category:Quests is included in the boilerplate as a placeholder category; this should be replaced by specific Quests in Media Title subcategories where possible, as per the categories guidelines. The Quests category is only intended to list the specific subcategories.

Section Explanation
Overview
An overview of the quest. This can include details of when the quest becomes available, where or how it is received, the task given to the protagonist or party, any mechanics associated with the quest, as well as story developments that occur during the quest. Overviews should not be written in a walkthrough or strategy guide tone, and instead present gameplay-related information as matter-of-fact and be written from an in-universe perspective.
Gameplay
The Gameplay section details essential information relevant to the quest that is not already covered in Overview. For most quests, this will simply have an Information subsection. Other quests may require more subsections not in the boilerplate to suit their needs.
  • Information — For documenting the quest's in-game data and/or descriptions. For quest descriptions, use Template:Quest Description.
  • Encounters — For documenting any unique encounters that occur during the quest. Use an encounter list table template appropriate to the game.
  • Boss — For documenting any boss information relevant to the quest. For ensured consistency, stat tables should be transcluded from the boss's own page.
