Nyarlathotep: Difference between revisions

Nyarlathotep is a character created by H.P. Lovecraft that features prominently in the Cthulhu Mythos, frequently known by his epithet, ''the Crawling Chaos''. He first appeared in the short story ''Nyarlathotep'', where he is a described as a pharaoh-like figure with dark skin who entrances humans with strange and unnatural feats. He is later established by Lovecraft and other foundational authors in the Mythos to be a shape-shifting entity whose form varies depending on his needs. Unlike most deities in the Mythos, which are described as separated from humanity, animalistic, and incomprehensible, Nyarlathotep is depicted as an active entity that infiltrates human civilization to cause chaos and mayhem, taking joy in the madness he spreads.
