Akechi gets his name from Japanese mystery writer [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edogawa_Ranpo Edogawa Ranpo]'s fictional detective [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kogoro_Akechi Kogoro Akechi], who was heavily based on Sherlock Holmes.
