Gadgets

Below is a list of special gadgets users can enable on their preferences page, as defined by the definitions. This overview provides easy access to the system message pages that define each gadget's description and code.

Editor Gadgets[View description]

• EditToolbarButtons: Adds citation buttons to the source editor.  (View description | Export)
  Uses: Gadget-EditToolbarButtons.js
  Enabled for everyone by default.
• EditTop: Adds a link to edit the page's lede section.  (View description | Export)
  Uses: Gadget-edittop.js
  Available for the following skins: Vector legacy (2010), Vector (2022), Timeless, MonoBook.
• HotCat: Allows editing categories without loading the edit form.  (View description | Export)
  Uses: Gadget-HotCat.js
• Syntax Highlighter: Highlight syntax in the source editor.  (View description | Export)
  Uses: Gadget-DotsSyntaxHighlighter.js
  Enabled for everyone by default.

Appearance Gadgets[View description]

• Tabs  (View description | Export)
  Uses: Gadget-Tabs.js
  Enabled for everyone by default.
• Reference Tooltips: Displays the content of a citation when the cursor is hovering over it.  (View description | Export)
  Uses: Gadget-ReferenceTooltips.js, Gadget-ReferenceTooltips.css
  Enabled for everyone by default.

Miscellaneous Gadgets[View description]

• Main page dynamic content: Loads content dynamically for the main page based on factors such as RNG and date  (View description | Export)
  Uses: Gadget-MainPageDynamicContent.js, Gadget-DidYouKnowData.js, Gadget-OnThisDayData.js
  This gadget is packaged, with entry point being MainPageDynamicContent.js
  Limited to the following namespaces: (Main), Template.
  Limited to the following categories: Megami Tensei Wiki, Main Page Templates.
  Enabled for everyone by default.
