Yuzu is a sociable girl and childhood friend of the protagonist and Atsuro Kihara, whom she has a friendly sibling-like relationship with. Her personality is a normal girl who is generally kind and in touch with people but under the circumstances of the lockdown she is very tense. She is more fearful than the other characters throughout the lockdown and prioritizes escaping and returning to her normal life. Yuzu is a big fan of the rock band D-VA and its lead singer Haru. Her parents are divorced, and she lives with her mom, with whom she has a difficult relationship. Yuzu's parents have never gotten along.[2]
Same as in Devil Survivor, Yuzu leaves if the Protagonist chooses the Naoya/Kaido route, however if the Protagonist chooses the Warlord path on the 8th day she will rejoin the party.
Her surname comes from 谷 tani meaning "valley" and 川 kawa meaning "river." Her given name is the name of a citrus fruit native to East Asia.
The Japanese version of the Yoohoo nickname is ソデコ (Sodeko), which comes from a misreading of the 柚 (Yuzu) kanji in her name as 袖 (Sode).
↑"Yuzu: It's just an ordinary family. But my parents never got along at all... So they got divorced last year. I've been living with my mom. But even after leaving my dad, my mom seems a lot touchier... She fusses over nothing! I know it's tough to take care of me by herself, but she's getting on my nerves. ...She and I hardly ever talk anymore." Devil Survivor: Overclocked (3DS). Developed by Career Soft. English.
