Hagito Katsuragi lives in Hatsudai Shelter and is married to Misato Katsuragi, who then had a child with, this child was called Ayato Katsuragi.
After a demon invasion Misato was killed and a few years later during another demon attack Katsuragi went MIA and only thing that was left of him was his jacket, to which Yoshio Nishino gave to the son of his late commander. Nishino then with his wife Yoko Nishino adoped Katsuragi's son.
Trivia
The jacket his son Ayato Katsuragi uses was inherited from him.
