filename guidelines
hello! just wanted to send you a post to help you understand how the file description and filename guidelines work.
Ill explain "upload file" first.
So for each section there's specific info that belongs in them, which is all explained here Template:Fileinfo. Now within these specific boxes this info also has to be notated a specific way.
In the "summary" section, instead of just saying "(object) from (game abbreviation)" you put "(object) from
{{Link|Game|(game abbreviation)}}
which automatically creates a link to said game. Technically speaking the object would also be within these brackets
[[]]
because it would likely have its own wikipage that needed to be linked to from the asset description itself.
However, for the "game" section, the abbreviation is all you need.
For source, you had the right idea, but it should actually link to your wiki userpage, which for you would look like User:Judoippon
For licensing, it should say copyright.
Subject should be blank unless you have specific background info about the asset that doesn't belong in the summary
Type is fairly self explanatory after you read Template:Fileinfo, but to be clear, since you ripped these assets they would be sprites
As for filename, this part you basically had correct, but you didn't put type at the end of the filename.
So to bring this all together, a previous example of one of your uploads was this:
DSRK2 Tsukudo-cho.png Fileinfo summary=Map of Tsukudo-cho from DSRK2 type=World map source=Ripped directly from game files myself game=Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon licensing=Atlus subject=
but it should actually look like this
DSRK2 Tsukudo-cho Sprite.png summary=Map of [[Tsukudo-cho]] from {{Link|Game|DSRK2}} type=Sprite source=[[User:Judoippon]] game=DSRK2 licensing=Copyright subject=
does that make sense?
I understand this is a lot of information, so I'm sorry. Personally I find it easier to keep track of when I keep a tab for both Template:Fileinfo and Guidelines:Files open when uploading. btw I'll be correcting the filenames myself because standard users cant rename files.
