Origin

The Xuanwu (玄武), or Black Warrior, is one of the Four Symbols, constellations that represent various things in Chinese culture. The Xuanwu represents the north, winter, and water.

Trivia

Xuanwu is inconsistently called Gui Xian and Genbu in the iOS localization of Shin Megami Tensei, with different menus using different names.
