Reason: need to upload messiah sprites and portraits + diamond realm background

Messiahs in the Diamond Realm is a downloadable story content for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. It adds a Challenge Quest that will momentarily transport Nanashi to another area to fight a boss when accepted. The Challenge Quest involves Nanashi being transported to the Diamond Realm to assist the protagonists from previous Shin Megami Tensei games. The downloadable content recommends that players reach the endgame before attempting this Challenge Quest.

The content was released for purchase and download on October 11, 2016 in North America,[1] as part of a weekly wave of downloadable content for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. As of the Nintendo 3DS eShop's closure on March 27, 2023, it is no longer possible to purchase or download any of the game's downloadable content.[2]

Summary

Nanashi, who has chosen his own path at this point, is contacted by Stephen to fulfill a request to guide other messiahs from other universes. Upon accepting the request, he wakes up inside a blue room and is attended to by En no Ozuno, whom he had last met in the depths of Twisted Tokyo. En no Ozuno explains that he has been transported to a place called the Diamond Realm, although he may be more familiar with it being called the Expanse. He directs Nanashi to meet with Stephen outside the room for further details on his summoning. Before he leaves, the two attendants accompanying En no Ozuno, Zenki and Goki, introduce themselves: Zenki functions as a way for Nanashi to return to his Tokyo, while Goki will heal Nanashi and his party to full health.

Once Nanashi exits the room, Stephen greets him and begins to explain the reason for his request, due to being short on time. He had bended the laws of the universe to bring four other messiahs to the Diamond Realm in order to save them from YHVH's attempts to end their lives. He then presents one of the messiahs' souls to Nanashi; this messiah had died when an ICBM fell on Tokyo due to YHVH's intervention, breaking him out of the cycle of reincarnation but leaving him without a body. The other three messiahs are in similar states, but are instead fighting to survive in the Diamond Realm. He asks Nanashi to guide the messiahs back to their original worlds as he cannot intervene directly himself, but promises to provide what little support he can afford to despite the risk of bending the will of the Axiom. If Nanashi accepts the request, Stephen directs him to greet the other three messiahs scattered throughout the Diamond Realm.

Nanashi proceeds to traverse the labyrinth to find the messiahs. To the northwest is Aleph, fighting a Law-aligned horde. He recognizes Nanashi as the one mentioned by Stephen in his dreams and asks the boy to help him defeat the horde. Once defeated, Aleph asks how he is still alive, as he remembers having been incinerated by the Megiddo Ark. Nanashi explains the current situation to him and he leaves to seek out En no Ozuno. After Aleph leaves, Nanashi discovers a Blue Key inside the room and takes it with him.

To the northeast is Demi-fiend, fighting a Chaos-aligned horde. Similarly to Aleph, he recognizes Nanashi as the one mentioned by Stephen in his dreams. Nanashi can jump in to help him out, to which the two split up to deal with the horde. Once defeated, Demi-fiend is confused as to why he is still alive, as Lucifer had killed him after he destroyed Kagutsuchi. Nanashi explains the current situation to him and he leaves to seek out En no Ozuno. After Demi-fiend leaves, Nanashi discovers a Red Key inside the room and takes it with him.

To the west is Flynn, fighting a Neutral-aligned horde. Notably, this Flynn does not recognize Nanashi, ordering the boy to get back. Nanashi can jump in to help him out, to which Flynn asks for assistance in dealing with the horde. Once defeated, Flynn identifies Nanashi as the one mentioned by Stephen in his dreams and reveals he died in the midst of filling the Chalice with hope when Jonathan summoned the Great Abaddon. Nanashi explains the current situation to him and he leaves to seek out En no Ozuno.

With his task finished, Nanashi returns to En no Ozuno's room, where the messiahs bar the one in Stephen's possession have gathered. En no Ozuno asks for the Red and Blue Keys and, once the items are given to him, unlocks entry to the east door, where Stephen awaits on the other side. The messiahs send off Nanashi with wishes of success and safety.

Nanashi reconvenes with Stephen in the east, whom presents the last messiah's soul once more. Stephen reveals the soul's identity as the Hero's and proceeds to link his soul with Nanashi's. Doing this allows Nanashi, using the power of Observation, to present himself as an example to the Hero and revive him. Stephen then engages Nanashi in battle to accelerate this process. After enough damage is dealt to Stephen, he calls off the fight to reveal the successful revival of the Hero. Now remembering his purpose, the Hero thanks Nanashi for bringing him back to life.

Stephen then calls back to the details of his request: he asked Nanashi to guide all of the messiahs, not just the Hero. As he says this, the other three messiahs barge into the room, curious to what is happening. With everyone now accounted for, Stephen stands out of his wheelchair, explaining how he bended the rules of the universe to save the messiahs. He had done this because he believes that humanity has the ability to exceed the Axiom and wishes to be proven correct. An oppressive and overwhelming energy radiates from Stephen as he asks the messiahs to fight him, causing the messiahs to put up their guard. Stephen notes that this is his first time fighting with his full power and preemptively apologizes for what is about to come. Nanashi and the messiahs split up, using a Double Party system to combat Stephen. After the two parties inflict enough damage onto Stephen, he stops fighting as he has been proven correct in believing in the might of the messiahs; rather unsurprising for the people the Goddess saw potential in. He directs them to return to their respective universes to accomplish their duties then vanishes.

Dazed from their battle with Stephen, the messiahs recount Stephen's directions, resolving to succeed after being given a second chance. A wormhole then appears in the room, allowing passage to each messiah's respective dimension. The messiahs leave through the wormhole and bid Nanashi farewell with a final remark: Aleph, who promises to defeat YHVH with his partner; Demi-fiend, who is itching to fight Lucifer; Flynn, who needs to finish gathering hope and remove the rock separating Tokyo and Mikado; and the Hero, who worries about the fate of his Tokyo after the ICBM fell yet is unsure of which path to take. Before Nanashi can step through the wormhole, En no Ozuno comes by to see him off, congratulating him for a job well done. He leaves Nanashi with the knowledge that people like him will continue to be born and create their own stories, although it is not an every day occurrence to meet them.
