Mattel is a playable character and the protagonist of Last Bible Special.[1] Mattel is his default name given at the beginning of the game and can be renamed at the Constance Cathedral. In the SSTranslations fan translation, he is named Mahtel.

Mattel is tasked by the priest of Constance Cathedral to regain the holy land Jerusalem from the dark lord Grias by clearing the four dungeons of Ignis Fort. To that end, the priest bestows Mattel the ability to control the Beasts that dwell there. Mattel is also given the suggestion to find allies at the Razes Plaza to aid him in his quest.
