Devil Children Light Book and Dark Book

In October 200X, Rena finds Jin at the Harajuku Arcade, proclaiming to have discovered something interesting at their school. Later that day, she tells Jin and Akira that she happened upon a book of Demons in the library. This catches the attention of Ami Kashihara, a transfer student, so they let her tag along. Jin and Akira recite an incantation in the book, consequently summoning a Gargoyle from the realm of Valhalla. Rena is taken hostage by the Gargoyle, to which Ami hands Jin and Akira Devilisers, calling forth their partners Rand and Gale to defeat Rena's captor. Afterwards, the group are told of the Time Rifts that are showing up across the universe, even finding one in the school hallways. With Jin and Akira awakened to their Devil Children powers, Ami leads Jin and Rena to the school's rooftop where they are introduced to Shun, a member of Valhalla's Rebel Army which aims to take down its tyrannical Empire.

Stepping through a portal to Valhalla, Rena follows Ami and Shun to the Rebel Army Lair, eventually reuniting with Jin and Rand. From the Rebels, Rena learns that the Time Rifts can be sealed with Time Chains, and so ventures to Makai with Shun in order to gather some. The two cross paths with Akira and Gale in Makai Ice, as they are also searching for Time Chains at Lucifer's behest. They all rendezvous in the depths of the Ice Temple and enter a portal to Valhalla's Time Tower, after which Rena and Shun depart for Hydra Town. However, they get intercepted by Imperial forces while traversing Inferno Valley, as does Jin, and are imprisoned in Flame Purgatory. Possessing a key to Flame Purgatory, Jin is able to escape, only to find Rena apprehended by Andromalius and taken to the Emperors' court in Tir Na Nog. During her trial, Rena tells off both Emperors for using their powers to subjugate the people of Valhalla, yet still fear the Devil Children's abilities. As punishment, she is removed from the court and executed. Ami later hears of Rena's demise, upon which she hands herself over to the Emperors and is put to death.

Jin and Akira face off against the and Younger Brother Emperor and Elder Brother Emperor in Tir Na Nog, chasing them into the Dark Between and Light Between respectively. There, they challenge the beings of destruction known as Quasar and Seyfert, but manage to win. Jin and Akira are brought to Time's Edge after the fight, meeting with the Son of Light and Prince of Darkness, their past incarnations and the creators of Valhalla. Grateful that the Devil Children saved the universe from annihilation, the two creators retrieve Rena and Ami's souls from the stream of time, successfully bringing them back to life.
